Hey everybody, today is our first official expo day where we have come up with our finalized idea! Our idea focuses on how loud decibals can denature proteins in the ear over a period of time. Our peers often listen to extremely loud music, to the point where we can even repeat the song lyrics from across the room. We researched and found that decibels that go over 100 can cause serious damage within an eight hour period. To solve this problem, we are trying to come up with a buffer or protection on headphones. This will limit the decibels to a range where it doesn't impact the hair cilia in a negative way. This way when people place earphones/earbuds or headphones in the ear, they don't have to worry about the loud music affecting the proteins and destroying the hair cilia. Our mission is to save the world from going deaf.
