The S.I.M.P.L.E. Campaign
One of the biggest problems with solving Noise Induced Hearing Loss was that no one knew it was a problem in the first place! During the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup Tournament, vuvuzelas, a traditional South African instrument that sounds like buzzing bees, were covered widely by the media as being extrememly loud, to the point where sports announcers for the games were having trouble being heard. However, a South African study found that even wide coverage did not significantly raise the level of awareness about NIHL. How can the public know that intense noise exposure causes deafness, but not know how or why?

Current Projects
Other than our product (Which you can find more information about here), we have been working on various forms of communication to raise awareness and give tips on how to keep NIHL from spreading.
These include our facebook and twitter page (linked in the upper left-hand corner), which are updated frequently. We are currently also working on producing flyers and brochures to post around our schools and put in our offices.
